WAVENEY VALLEYPRODUCTIONS

Waveney Valley Productions offers a  collective umbrella for East Anglian based artists. Our work promotes tolerance, diversity, and opportunities. We believe in offering entertainment and stories which are innovative, challenging and avoid dogma. We offer performances and workshops in schools, libraries and to the wider community. 

 

Trained in theatre and stage management at The BSSTDA. Award winning Writer / Director with plays performed at The Arcola, The Seagull, Soho Theatre, Ink Festival, Hightide and listed for the Manchester Bruntwood.  Created Waveney Valley Productions in 2014 in response to a need for professional theatre and film opportunities in East Anglia. Previous was founder for the arts organisation and charity Create.

 

Composer -

Charlie Seaborn

An integral part of the  BTL team. Charlie has also worked with us on ROLE PLAY.  The play appeared at The Ink Festival and High Tide. We made it into a film 2016.  Charlie also worked with us on THE COMPLIMENT, part of the With Love From Suffolk ensemble project.

Ryan Hill

Our Fourth time working with Ryan. Ryan worked as Tech on THE INSECT HOUSE, helping us take it to Soho Theatre. He composed music for a short project last year, helped record sound at the Ink Festival & this year acted as lyricist on three of the songs in BTL.

 

Puppeteer -

Liz Waugh McManus

Artist and Puppet maker Liz Waugh McManus has a multi-faceted practice embracing puppets, sculpture, film and visual theatre. Liz has worked on many projects with Create and WVP, as an educator and as an artist. Joint projects included The Hyve, Brief Timeline, and commissions from the County Council.  Liz designed and made all the puppets for this project, and also the gas mask monster and the crow. Liz has also worked with many other theatre companies, and runs her own productions through Obelon Arts and Green Fingers.  

 

Mentor & Venue Partner -

James Holloway

An integral part of the  BTL team.  With an M.A. in theatre studies and scriptwriting.  As founder of The Cut, in Halesworth. James has mentored many East Anglian theatre companies over the years. He has worked with WVP on The Insect House, Game, Heart of Darkness and B.T.L.

 

Art Director -

Hannah Garland

Having worked for many years on props and set design at the Royal Opera House, Hannah can turn her hand to designing pretty much anything. She is a valued member of the WVP team, and has worked on Hyve, After Life, Rabbit, Salt, Skittles, Role Play, and BTL. 

 

Lighting -

Alan Edwards

Caroline works for Dance East and was also a founder member of The Cut. Our first time working with Caroline on the BTL project, but we will definitely be hoping to work with her more in the future. 

 

Sound & Light -

Philip Ling

A valued member of the team. Phil is not only great on the sound and lighting desk, but he has helped with the set design. Phil has worked with us on The Insect House, Hyve, and BTL. We worked with Phil and his company Mustard on The Diary of Anne Frank. 

Stage Manager -

Rob Backhouse

Rob has worked with us on projects for around 12 years now.  He was one of the founders of Create, the original arts charity.  Rob also runs Mustard theatre company with Phil Ling. 

Choreographer -

Caroline Mummery

A seasoned stage technician. Able to think through problems and devise ingenious solutions. Alan is a valued member to the team, and has worked on Hyve, After Life and BTL. 

 

Selected for the Young Writers incentive at The Garage in Norwich 2012.  Studied Literature at York University. Worked on a series of projects with WVP as script editor on Brief Timeline, Biggest Fear, Number 22 and Why Didn't They Ask Evans.  Directed and Produced Heart of Darkness.

Our third time working with the multi talented Vanessa Earl. Trained at Le Coq, Vanessa's ability to bring the masks to life is awe-inspiring.  Vanessa is adept at breaking down movements in performance, her input has been invaluable.

We have worked on a  number of projects with Martin. Perfect Peace, a commission from the Brecks Council. Skittles, an absurdist comedy written by Martin and now Brief Timeline. An experienced actor with training in puppetry and mask work.

Hayley Evenett

Our third time working with the multi-talented Vanessa Earl. Trained at Le Coq, Vanessa's ability to bring the masks to life is awe-inspiring.  Vanessa is adept at breaking down movements in performance, her input has been invaluable. 

Our second time working with the talented and versatile Hayley.  A skilled singer, dancer and actor, Hayley has really helped to bring the character of Sarah to Life. Hayley is also a skilled producer in her own right, and head of Red Duck Productions, another company which is dedicated to bringing opportunities to actors and audiences in the East Anglian region.

Our fourth time working with the talented Adrienne. We worked on Hyve, Why Didn't They Ask Evans, After Life and BTL.  All the parts Adrienne has played are completely diverse, yet she embraces each challenge brining insight into every part she is asked to play.   

Our first time working with Hal, an incredibly talented young man and a valued member of the team.  Hal is a brilliant actor, dancer, singer & lyricist, a rare find.  We shall miss him greatly when he heads off to university. 

A big thank you to Peter Eveson for documenting our project. Please see the trailer. It's our first time working with Peter, but we will certainly be using him again. 

A big thank you to Rory Lowe for his brilliant animation. We are really interested in projection within our theatre pieces, and will certainly be working with Rory again.
